So many great get companies get their start at Stanford University. I realize the the Y Combinator is there but I think the students are given a head start right from the start.
The fall CS schedule has cs193P iPhone Application Programming. Imagine still being in school and actually learning skills that are cutting edge in the "real world". I can also image the great guest lectures they would be able to pull in from Apple... talk about networking!
I wonder if RIM will ever expand from there present model. I know that they recruit a lot of Wateroo Co-op students since they are right next door. How about a joint program between Waterloo & RIM on training students with over the top skills that might give them enough incentive to stick around and start the next great Canadian startup.
